Data Breach
A data breach is a security incident in which unauthorized parties gain access to, steal, or expose sensitive, confidential, or protected information. In third-party cyber risk management, vendor data breaches are a primary concern because vendors with access to first-party systems or customer data can become the vector through which that data is compromised. Black Kite's Data Breach Index (DBI) tracks vendors' historical breach records as part of a complete risk picture.
