Zero-Day Vulnerability

A zero-day vulnerability is one that is actively exploited by attackers before the software vendor has released a patch, meaning there is zero time between discovery and exploitation. Zero-day vulnerabilities represent the highest urgency tier in patch management and continuous monitoring programs because no official fix exists at the time of exploitation.
