Workflow Engine

A workflow engine is an automation capability within a third-party cyber risk management platform that detects defined risk conditions and triggers prescribed actions, such as alerts, ticket creation, or notifications to integrated tools, without manual intervention. Workflow automation is essential for scaling continuous monitoring across large vendor portfolios. In the Black Kite platform, the Workflow Engine detects conditions across specific companies or entire ecosystems, such as a Ransomware Susceptibility Index® (RSI™) score crossing a threshold, a new failed finding appearing after a scan, or financial impact exceeding a set value, and takes prescribed actions such as notifying users via email or SMS, opening tickets, or sending webhook messages to integrated tools.
