Cyber Threat
A cyber threat is any potential malicious act that could damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to computer systems, networks, or data. Cyber threats include ransomware, phishing, data exfiltration, distributed denial-of-service attacks, insider threats, and supply chain attacks. In third-party cyber risk management, understanding the cyber threats most likely to affect vendor ecosystems is foundational to prioritizing assessments and monitoring.
